After 30 years finally out for DVD!!!
Thank you CODE RED!!! It's just having the DVD published is awsome!!! There was pro and cons on this DVD. Pros are: It's out and available for widescreen, Great Interviews of director, Martyn Burke, and actor, George Touliatos,. Cons; it was not digitally remastered, no interview of Lee majors and Chris Makepeace, No original movie trailers. I hope other Lee Majors films such as Norseman, Agency, Steel, Killer Fish, Just a little inconvibience, Ballad of Andy Crocker, Weekend of the Terror would be available for any time soon!!!!
I remember seeing this film at the theater with Robin Williams' Popeye" as afternoon double feature movie matinee when I was kid.
This was low budget Canadian film marketed as American film (Lee Majors made a couple of Canadian movies like this in early 80's such as Agency with late Robert Mitchum)
The shortage of oils leading into ban of automobiles, epidemic wiped out the populations, and people are forced by government...
Corrected Version
A few weeks ago, Code Red recalled this title due to the audio being 3 seconds out of sync with the picture. I am pleased to report that having gotten this re-release today, I can verify that the audio is now properly in synch with the video.
Everything else is the same with this release. Those who held off can now buy without fear. However, be sure to check the back of the DVD case, it should have a new UPC sticker placed over the original UPC code. If you see that, it is the corrected version.
IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT THIS EARLY 80'S GOLD CLASSIC GETS THE DVD TREATMENT
When I first saw The Last Chase on HBO in April 1982, I was amazed with the story of a former race-car driver ,turned civil-servant, who defies the system he works for to race across America and with Burgess Meredith as a former pilot to chase him is truly a film that stands out among the cult-classics of all time. And now 30 years later, we're now getting the DVD from Code Red.
